Jesse Sosa returns to A-Kon 24

Jesse is a 3D character artist and creative director of his new studio, Dinosaur Games. He has been in the game industry for 12 years and has worked on a large amount of titles including; Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Wizard 101, BloodRayne 2, the infamous Star Wars: Kinect, the movie Grandma's Boy, and many more.

His love affair with anime began in the 80s when he first watched Robotech and Voltron. Over the years, his favorites have grown to include Ranma 1/2, Evangelion, Fushigi Yuugi, Bubblegum Crisis, and more recently Haruhi, Astro Fighter Sunred, Tokyo Godfathers, as well as many others. Anime and 80s cartoons were pivotal in helping craft his artistic style. He also has a love for Japanese live action drama.

Shortly after high school he attended the Art Institute of Dallas. After a year he dropped out to pursue the game industry. He quickly built his portfolio and entered in 2001. After a decade, Jesse started Dinosaur Games out of frustration with the direction the game industry was heading. His team is very passionate on bringing arcade action of yesteryear back into the living rooms of today. They are also very passionate on bringing new and refreshing art styles to all their games. Their first game, MechKnight Chronicles, is a side scrolling brawler and an homage to anime and 80s cartoons, especially mecha and sentai. They debuted their work in progress trailer at A-Kon 23 and this year they will have a playable demo for everyone to try.

Every year Jesse helps bring video game panels to A-Kon. His yearly ‘How to get into the Game Industry’ is aimed at helping answer questions anyone may have about entering the industry. He is also branching out into social panels such as the A-Kon Icebreaker. A panel that encourages people to interact, meet new friends, play games, and win prizes.

Find him walking around the convention and he may give you a prize!
