1st win for Kaoru Mori, 2nd win for Yoshihiro Tatsumi

Kaoru Mori's A Bride's Story manga and Yoshihiro Tatsumi's A Drifting Life manga won the Prix Intergénérations (Intergenerational Award) and Prix Regards sur le monde (World Outlook Award), respectively, at France's Angoulême International Comics Festival on Sunday. French comic creator Jean-Claude Denis won the top award, the Grand Prix.

Tatsumi's L'Enfer (Jigoku/Hell) received a nomination three years ago, but did not win. Tatsumi himself received a special prize at Angoulême in 2005.

Other manga nominated for this year's awards included Hikaru Nakamura's Saint Young Men, Susumu Higa's Suna no Tsurugi, Issei Eifuku and Taiyo Matsumoto's Takemitsuzamurai, Osamu Tezuka's Boku no Manga Jinsei (My Manga Life), Shōtarō Ishinomori's Kyū Tō Ryū (Nine Dragons) and Ryū no Michi (Ryū's Path), Kanata Konami's Chi's Sweet Home, and Atsushi Kaneko's SOIL.
