posted on by Gia Manry
Super Dollfie representation of Peach-Pit manga's characters on display

The parabolica-bis café in Asakusabashi, Tokyo launched an exhibit titled "Bellmer and Japanese Ball-Jointed Dolls" ("Bellmer to Nippon no Kyūtai-Kansetsu Ningyō") on Monday. The display features reproductions of manga art and color illustrations from manga creator duo Peach-Pit's Rozen Maiden, a manga series which revolves around a collection of living ball-jointed dolls.

Doll manufacturer Volks will also display five Rozen Maiden characters' portrayals from its Super Dollfie line: Suigintou, Suiseiseki, Souseiseki, Hina-Ichigo, and the KUN-KUN mascot character. Nine individual dollmakers, including Ryō Yoshida, naruto, Hizuki, Tari Nakagawa, Os, Akihiko Aono, Mican, and Nori Doi, will also participate by having their works on display.

The exhibit opened on February 14 and will run until March 14; the entry fee is 500 yen (about US$6).
