Survey: Slam Dunk Manga is #1 Choice for Live-Action (Updated)

The Japanese marketing research firm Oricon posted on Sunday the results of its survey on which manga people want to be adapted into live-action.

Oricon Monitor Research's survey panel questioned 900 people over the Internet between April 20 and 24. After being asked if they were interested in manga, the the respondents were divided evenly between males and females, and between the age groups of 10 to 19, 20 to 29, and 30 to 39 years old. The survey was conducted to gauge people's interest after popular manga such as Dragon Ball and Rookies were adapted into live-action films and television series.

Update: The Zenkan Dokuha used books section of the Rakuten online store reported in January that Kimi ni Todoke would be adapted into a drama project this April. However, the short blurb is no longer on the website, and an anime adaptation has since been announced for this fall. New Line Cinema had acquired the live-action film rights for Monster with Josh Olson writing a screenplay in 2005.
