Ga-Rei Afterschool Spirit-Hunting Manga to be Animated

Ga-Rei: Zero to adapt Hajime Segawa's action manga from Shōnen Ace

The promotional sleeve wrapper on the sixth volume (on sale on April 26) of Hajime Segawa's The Enchained Spiritual Beast Ga-Rei manga series has announced that an anime has been greenlit. The Ga-Rei: Zero anime will adapt this "afterschool underground spirit-hunting action" story about a boy named Kensuke Nimura who can see spirits. He helps a girl named Kagura — who happens to control a spiritual beast named Byakuei — in her hunt for supernatural creatures. Kagura is actually a member of the Supernatural Disaster Prevention Office, a classified government agency in the Ministry of the Environment, and she presses Kagura to join the agency. Kadokawa Shoten, the publisher of the Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine that serializes the manga, has posted a free online sample of the manga.
