Ascendent Animation Announces an English Dub of Fire in his Fingertips: My Childhood Friend is a Fireman and Fire in His Fingertips 2: My Boyfriend is a Fireman
LOS ANGELES, CA - DECEMBER 2021 - Ascendent Animation is proud to announce their newest acquisition of, “Fire in His Fingertips -My Childhood Friend is a Fireman-” and also, “Fire in His Fingertips 2 -My Boyfriend is a Fireman-”. Alongside these acquisitions, we are also proud to announce the production of an English dub. ‘Fire in his Fingertips’ (Season 1 and 2) will be their third (and fourth) English dubbing productions, respectively.
Fire in his Fingertips (Season 1 and 2) is being dubbed in partnership with Japanese companies WWWaveCorp and Suiseisha Inc. The show is based off of a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the artist Tanishi Kawano. Originally serialized in the web manga magazine Screamo, it has continued its popularity in volumes crafted by Suiseisha, with digital distribution through Coolmic, and in North America on paperback through Ghost Ship. The story begins when the apartment of 24-year-old female office worker Ryo Fujihashi catches fire. Ryo is rescued by her childhood friend, womanizing firefighter Soma Mizuno. Will love's flame ignite?
The show follows a romantic (ecchi) storyline, featuring thematic elements, and a dramatic undertone. Each episode runs about seven minutes long and follows closely to the manga. Adapting the script is localization veteran, Kevin Frane (428 Shibuya Scramble, Quantum Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner), Michaela Laws (Seduce Me, Yandere Simulator), will be directing the English Dub, and Steve Warky Nunez (Sonic the Hedgehog, Venom 2), will helm the audio engineering and mixing. Also returning is K. Cornell Kellum (Vice Squad, The Titan's Bride), as Executive Producer.
When asked about directing this new show for Ascendent Animation, Director Michaela Laws stated, "I'm really excited to work on Fire in his Fingertips, as this genre of anime is both a familiar world to me and one that is finally flourishing beyond just manga and novels that you hide against your chest. This series is a story you may feel familiar with or may fantasize about and that is the beauty of it. We are growing to be more open to ideas of sex and love while the world of anime continues to open its doors to more stories. If you appreciate romance, a little slice-of-life, and some spice along the way, you'll enjoy Fire in his Fingertips Season 1 and 2."
Following their work on The Titan's Bride, Ascendent will continue using talent from across the world and of the BIPOC/LGBTQ+ community, following their company's promise to be inclusive and diverse.

composed of the voice actors for Soma, Yuki, and Jun. In the uncensored version it is
