Vampire Knight Ending Gets 'Rewrite' in New Drama CD

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The cast of Matsuri Hino's gothic romantic drama Vampire Knight will return in a new drama CD bundled with the fourth volume of the Vampire Knight: Memories manga series. The special edition of the volume, set for release on February 5, will include a drama CD that "rewrites" the end of of the first manga series and three new stories written by Hino.

Yui Horie will return as Yūki Cross, Mamoru Miyano will reprise his role as Zero Kiryū, and Daisuke Kishio will again play Kaname Kuran. Voice actors Jun Fukuyama, Hozumi Gōda, Mariya Ise, and Aoi Yūki are also set to reprise their roles.

Customers that purchase the limited edition at Animate stores will receive an illustration card while supplies last.

Hino launched Vampire Knight in LaLa in 2004, and Hakusensha published the 19th and final compiled book volume in November 2013. Viz Media published the final volume in North America in October 2014. Viz also released the 2008 Vampire Knight anime series and its Vampire Knight Guilty followup.

Hino followed up the story with the Vampire Knights memories manga in the same magazine in 2013. The chapters were published irregularly for two years before Hino officially launched the series in Hakusensha's LaLa DX. Viz Media licensed the series in 2016.
