Exclusive: Virtual YouTuber Siro Talks Video Games, Upcoming Appearance in Modern Combat Versus

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The world of virtual YouTubers is vast, but several personalities have managed to rise above the crowd. One is Cyber Girl Siro, an avid first-person shooter player. Since her debut last summer, Siro has won the hearts of half a million viewers with her Let's Play and quiz videos. She has her own official figures in the works by Good Smile Company and Kotobukiya and has jumped from 3D to 2D to promote KLab's MAGATSU WAHRHEIT battle RPG smartphone game.

Before her debut into MAGATSU WAHRHEIT's world of magic, Siro is making her official foray as a video game character in Gameloft's first-person shooter Modern Combat Versus. Siro, and her horse-headed friend Ubiba, are dropping into the game as limited, unlockable costumes until September 16. Plus, Siro's costume includes real voice lines from Siro herself.

Anime News Network 'sat down' with the character to catch up on her whirlwind career, her favorite video games, and what it's like to go from YouTube to being a playable character in video games.

Gamesloft debuted Modern Combat Versus for PC and mobile devices last winter. The game is free to play and pits players against one another in 4v4 battles as one of over 13 specialized Agents.

Virtual YouTubers like Siro and Kizuna Ai have gained huge followings with many other properties following suit with their own cute girls (and dirty old men). The original character Slimeko from the Overlord: Mass for the Dead mobile RPG made her debut this month. Nitro+ mascot Super Sonico also joined the Virtual YouTuber ranks and several have moonlighted as anime voice actors.
