Face Your Own Titan at Attack on Titan Tokyo, Osaka Exhibits

Attack on Titan is currently having its biggest key animation exhibit yet at the Ikebukuro Sunshine City World Import Mart building. Hundreds of key frames from the anime's first two seasons are being displayed, along with background art boards, key visuals, and other design materials. That's not all, however - a part of the exhibit gives you the opportunity to face a computer-generated version of your own titan.
Visitors stand in front of a wall depicting a town under attack from the titans. They are instructed to stare at the wall until their face is scanned. After a few seconds of wait, a titan will appear based on the image of the visitor's face.
Bespectacled visitors should get an extra kick when they see how they look in titan form!
Each animated titan model appears to have its own personality, much like how the creatures are depicted in the anime. Visitors are encouraged to take photos and video of their titan with their smartphones, although the use of a digital camera is forbidden in all parts of the exhibit.
Another selling point of the exhibit is the option to listen to an audio guide, which features the Japanese voices of Eren (Yūki Kaji), Mikasa (Yui Ishikawa), Levi (Hiroshi Kamiya), Hange (Romi Park), and Erwin (Daisuke Ono). The characters recap the story of Attack on Titan and offer commentary from their own perspectives as the visitor progresses through the exhibit.
They key animation is laid out in chronological order, with no major plot point omitted. Make sure you've watched the first two season of the anime before entering the exhibit.
Fans of Eren and Levi will be particularly amused when the pair look back on their first meeting. This scene was so popular among fans that the set was recreated as a photo spot for the exhibit. Levi says that he would be happy to beat up Eren violently again if he ever asks for it, to which Eren hastily responds that he's learned his lesson.
The “Attack on Titan: THE ANIMATION GALLERY” will be held at the 4th floor of the Ikebukuro Sunshine City World Import Mart building until August 26. From September 10 to October 8, the exhibit will move to the Hirakata Park Event Hall I in Osaka. Same-day tickets for adults cost 1,800 yen. The audio guide costs 700 yen extra.
