Artist huke Teases Return of 'Black' Work

posted on by Egan Loo

Anime News Network's coverage of Anime Expo 2018 is sponsored by Yen Press.

Illustrator huke (Black Rock Shooter, Steins;Gate) teased at the Good Smile Company x huke panel at Anime Expo on Sunday that a "black" work is returning. Good Smile Company President Takanori Aki added that announcements can be made at the next Anime Expo in July 2019.

The illustrator huke is perhaps best known for the Black Rock Shooter franchise, which began from an illustration of the eponymous character he posted on pixiv in December 2007. The illustration inspired a song of the same title by supercell using the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid, and later spawned a 2010 original video anime project and a 2012 television anime, as well as spinoff manga, games, and figures depicting the character. The artist is also known for providing the original character designs for the Steins;Gate franchise, and illustrating art for the franchise.
