Tokyo Capsule Hotel Offers Encouragement of Climb Rooms

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The Encouragement of Climb of manga and anime series blends mountain-climbing, survival, and friendship. It comes as a surprise that for the anime's third season, the staff are working with a hotel to promote the show.

The Nihonbashi Muromachi Bay Hotel is a capsule hotel located in Chuo, Tokyo. That's right, it's located in the middle of a metropolis. The choice to collaborate with a hotel in the big city to promote a series about mountain climbing is head-scratching, fans who want an opportunity to sleep in a room decorated around their favorite character might want to check it out. The hotel is transforming 10 rooms, two per character, to book from July 27 to August 13 as well as two special unit rooms.

The hotel will also offer a photo backdrop in the lounge and give character bottle caps and IC card seals to guests. Female visitors are out of luck though, the rooms are on the men's only floor for the majority of the campaign. The Muromachi Bay Hotel will add more themed rooms during this summer's Comiket event.

The third season of Encouragement of Climb will premiere on Tokyo MX and other networks on July 2. The anime will also stream on 15 services in Japan. The show will have 13 15-minute episodes.

The anime is based on Shiro's Yama no Susume manga series. The manga inspired a 12-episode anime series in January 2013. Each episode of the first season was five minutes long. The second season, Yama no Susume Second Season, premiered in July 2014 and had 24 episodes. Each episode in the second season was 15 minutes long. The Yama no Susume: Omoide Present OVA screened at 10 Aeon Cinema theaters in Japan last October.
