Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Switch Game Has All Previous Playable Characters

Nintendo announced details on its upcoming Super Smash Bros. crossover fighting game for Nintendo Switch during its Nintendo Direct E3 presentation on Tuesday. The game is titled Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and it is slated for December 7, 2018. It will include all playable fighters that have appeared in all previous games, including DLC.
New characters include Ridley from the Metroid series, Daisy from the Mario series, and the previously teased Inkling (male and female) from the Splatoon series. Director Masahiro Sakurai referred to Daisy as an "echo fighter" of Peach — her play style is similar to Peach's, as Lucina's is to Marth's and Dark Pit's is to Pit's.
Some of the characters will feature new appearances. Mario will have his builder and wedding outfits as well as his cap from Super Mario Odyssey. Star Fox will have his Star Fox Zero design. Link will have both his classic appearance and his Champion's Tunic from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Zelda's appearance, however, is based on The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and Ganondorf's is based on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Ike will have both his designs from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and the two versions will have slightly different voices. Fire Emblem's Marth will be voiced in English for the first time.
The game will add female versions of both Pikachu and the Pokémon trainer.
New characters that will appear as assist trophies include Bomberman, the Squid Sisters from Splatoon, and additional Pokémon such as Bewear and Solgaleo. More than 50 assist trophies will appear in the game.
Some new characters will appear as part of other characters' "Final Smash" abilities. Ness' Final Smash will have Paula and Poo, while Lucas' will have Kumatora and Boney. In Shulk's Final Smash, Fiora will appear along with the other party members. Mega Man's Final Smash will add Proto Man and Bass.
The roster at the beginning of the game will be small but characters will be added consistently.
The presentation also showed some of the stages that will appear in the game. Each stage will have two forms, one of which is the standard form as has appeared in previous games, and one of which is a simplified battlefield platform.
Nintendo will offer a GameCube controller that can be used with the Switch for the game. All of the characters' amiibo figures will be compatible.
