Square Enix Reveals Idol Fantasy Idol-Raising Smartphone Game

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Players manage fantasy world heroes who aim to become top idols in game slated for summer

Square Enix revealed a new idol-raising smartphone game titled Idol Fantasy on Thursday. The game is slated for release on iOS and Android devices this summer.

Square Enix had filed a trademark for "Idol Fantasy" last month.

The game's character designers include Gen Kobayashi (Schoolgirl Strikers), Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy series), and Yasuhisa Izumisawa (World of Final Fantasy), Sō Kirishima (MARGINAL #4 the Animation), Teita (Norn9, Sengoku Night Blood), Jiro Suzuki (Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc), memo, Satsuki Yoshino (Barakamon), Higasa Akai (The Royal Tutor), Iro Aida (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun), and Samako Natsu (Dance with Devils - Blight-).

The game is set in a world where the real world and fantasy world cross over, and casts players as the producer of a unique talent agency that manages idols that are heroes from a fantasy world, who are able to use swords, fly, or use magic. All of these heroes are aiming to become the industry's top idol, and players must manage their schedules for concerts, or cast them in commercials or movies.
