WHITE FOX to anime series starring Yuichiro Umehara, Yui Ogura, more

The "GA Bunko 2018 Happyō Stage" presentation at the Wonder Festival event announced on Sunday that Kumo Kagyu's Goblin Slayer light novel series is getting a television anime adaptation that will premiere this year.

WHITE FOX is animating the series. The anime will feature the same cast as an earlier drama CD adaptation:

SB Creative published the first volume of the Goblin Slayer dark fantasy novel series in February 2016, and the company published the sixth volume on September 14. SB Creative will publish the seventh volume on March 14. Noboru Kannatsuki illustrates the novel series.

Kōsuke Kurose (The IDOLM@STER Neue Green for Dearly Stars) launched the main manga adaptation in May 2016.

Yen Press has licensed both the novels and Kurose's manga adaptation. The company published the fourth novel in print on December 19, and released the manga's 20th chapter digitally on January 25.

Yen Press describes the series:

A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It's the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue--a man who's dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there's no telling who might come calling next...

Yen Press is also publishing Kento Eida's Goblin SlayerSide Story: Year One manga in English. Yen Press launched the manga in September, on the same day the manga premiered in Japan. The company published the seventh chapter on February 2.

Update: Added anime visual from official Twitter account.

Update 2: Added announcement video.

Update 3: The anime will premiere this year.
