New play to tell finale for Miyagi Prefecture representative

This year's sixth issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that the Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyu!! series of stage plays is getting a new work in fall 2018. The new play will tell the finale of the deciding match for the representative for Miyagi Prefecture.

"Worry Kinoshita" is returning from the previous five stage play adaptations to direct and write the script. The cast will star returning cast members: Kenta Suga, Tatsuya Kageyama, Ryotaro Kosaka, Kairi Miura, Kouhei Shiota, Yuto Fuchino, Kazuma Kawahara, Keita Tanaka, Naoki Tanaka, and Justin Tomimori as members of the Karasuno team.

Hyper-Projection Engeki Haikyu!! "Hajimari no Kyojin" (Hyper-Projection Stage Play Haikyu!! "The Giant of Beginnings"), the fifth stage play of the series, will run from April 28 to May 6 in Tokyo, May 12 to 13 in Hyōgo, May 18 to 20 in Fukuoka, May 25 to 27 in Miyagi, June 1 to 3 in Osaka, and a final run in Tokyo on June 8 to 17.

The stage play will focus on Hinata and Kageyama developing their new attack, as well as portraying the stories of other members on the Karasuno team. Like the last four stage plays, this new play is billed as a "hyper-projection play," with video projections that allow for manga-styled speech bubbles, as well as views of the stage floor, and a revolving stage.

The fourth stage play, titled Hyper-Projection Engeki Haikyu!! "Shinka no Natsu" (Hyper-Projection Stage Play Haikyu!! "Summer of Evolution"), ran in Tokyo from September 8-10, and also ran in Osaka, Hyōgo, Miyagi, and Fukuoka before returning to Tokyo for its final October 20-29 run. The third stage play ran in Tokyo, Miyagi, Osaka, and Fukuoka, and back to Tokyo from March 24 to May 7. The second stage play ran in Tokyo, Iwaki, Fukuoka, and Osaka in November-December 2016. The first stage play ran in Tokyo, Osaka, and Miyagi in November-December 2015.
