One Woman Dreams of the Love She Left in Chichibu in New Promotional Anime

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The Seibu Railway line and Chichibu prefecture are teaming up to promote the area's unique features with an original anime project.

The anime will feature some of Chichibu's biggest tourist attractions, like the the railway's Seibuto Traveling Restaurant "52 Seats of Happiness", the tourist town Nagatoro, Chichibu Jinja temple, and Hitsujiyama Park where romance comes into full bloom when the hills turn pink from Shibazakura.

The story follows Kaoruko as she's on her way to meet her blind date, someone she's never been able to forget. She never learned his name when they first met in Chichibu as children. She remembers the Chichibu Shrine where they walked together, viewing the Shibazakura at Hitsujiyama Park, the stream in Nagatoro, the sea of clouds seen from Mitsumine Shrine. All of these became irreplaceable memories for Kaoruko and her heart ignites as she thinks she may meet him again if she returns to Chichibu.

ERASED, Haikyu!!, and 91 Days scriptwriter Taku Kishimoto is penning the project and RIN-NE and D-Frag! director Seiki Sugawara is helming the anime at TMS Entertainment.

The anime is scheduled to premiere at this year's Chichibu Film Festival on November 19. It will then launch on Seibu Railway's website the following March with subtitles in English, French, and traditional Chinese.
