Japan Hires Mr. Osomatsu's Matsuno Bros. to Promote All 47 Prefectures

Japan has picked some interesting ambassadors to promote its 47 prefectures. The not always family-friendly stars of Mr. Osomatsu will promote the unique regions of Japan with each brother in charge of one special region. The prefecture assignments were chosen by a "draft" event held on Thursday. Each brother drew his area (Kantō, Hokkaidō/Tōhoku, Chūbu, Kansai, Chūgoku/Shikoku, Kyūshū/Okinawa) from a box.
Moving forward, the brothers will appear on "goshōin stickers" (the kanji in the name of the stickers incorporate "Matsu") that municipalities will distribute for free this winter and "regional 'Matsu' goods." The brothers will also appear at events in their designated regions.
Tokyo News Services' TV Bros. magazine previously collaborated with Mr. Osomatsu for six variant covers, each representing a specific region.
The second season of Mr. Osomatsu premiered on October 5 on TV Tokyo and other stations. Viz Media is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.
