Kouichi Yamadera, Momoiro Clover Z's Kanako Momota Perform Theme Song for New Kaiketsu Zorori Film

Zorori goes back in time and meets his young mother in film opening this November

Voice actor Kouichi Yamadera and Momoiro Clover Z group leader Kanako Momota are performing the theme song for the Eiga Kaiketsu Zorori: ZZ no Himitsu (Kaiketsu Zorori the Movie: Secret of Double Z) anime film. The single CD will ship in Japan on November 22.

The song, "Yume wa Kokoro no Tsubasa" (Dreams are the Wings of the Heart), will be Momota's first theme song performance outside of a group. Yamadera is reprising his role as Zorori and Momota is voicing Zorori's young mother in the film.

The film will open in Japan on November 25. Masaya Fujimori (Tribe Cool Crew, Izetta: The Last Witch) is directing the film off a script by Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Yowamushi Pedal) at BN Pictures and Ajiado. Kōhei Tanaka (One Piece, Sakura Wars) is composing the music.

In the film's original story, Zorori is sucked into another time with Ishishi and Noshishi. There he meets his mother during her younger days. However, she is swallowed by a mysterious monster and Zorori must team up with a treasure hunter named Zorand to save her. The film teases an explanation of the secret behind the "ZZ" mark on Zorori's costume.

Yutaka Hara began the original Kaiketsu Zorori children's book series in 1987 and published the 61st book in June. The books have inspired a 1993 film, a 2004-2005 television anime series, a second television anime from 2005 to 2007, and a second film in 2006. These earlier films were short works that were screened with other anime, but the series later inspired three previous feature-length films in 2012, 2013, and 2015.

Hara's books follow Zorori, a mischievous bandit fox who dreams of becoming the "King of Pranks." Zorori aims to "build my own castle and make a beautiful princess my wife," and he embarks on one misadventure after another with his two boar companions Ishishi and Noshishi.
