posted on by Jennifer Sherman

THE GUEST cafe & diner is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2 manga. Three locations in major metropolitan areas in Japan are hosting a collaboration cafe for the martial-arts romantic comedy.

The collaboration menu will offer a variety of savory and sweet dishes. People who order the ramen will be able to order it with (1,490 yen; about US$13) or without (1,190 yen; US$10) a renge spoon. In addition, people will have the option of ordering "pre-meal VR topping" with the ramen for 250 yen (US$2). The "topping" will offer a VR experience of the "Goal o Mezase" (Aim for the Goal) story from the manga's seventh volume. Fans will be able to have the experience of the character Shampoo serving them.

Other menu items will include themed soup, curry, pasta, a parfait, a cotton candy plate, a pancake, a Mont Blanc, custard buns, and savory okonomiyaki pancakes. The drinks will be a hot or iced latte with cookies, soda, a smoothie, and a goldfish bowl drink.

The food menu prices range will range from 600 yen (US$5) for okonomiyaki to 1,590 yen (US$14) for the pasta plate. Drinks will cost between 790 yen (US$7) and 1,290 yen (US$11). People who order from the collaboration cafe menu will receive a special paper luncheon mat, and people who order a drink will receive one of ten coasters.

Additionally, the collaboration will sell limited-edition merchandise including acrylic key holders, tin badges, lunch tote bags, towels, masking tape, whiteboards, plates, ribbon hair clips, okonomiyaki spatulas, clear files, pins, hoodies, and long-sleeved T-shirts. Each location will have only 100 Ukyo okonomiyaki spatulas. The goods will range in price from 300 yen (US$3) for a tin badge to 4,800 yen (US$42) for a hoodie.

The cafe will run in Shinsaibashi, Osaka from November 9 to December 19; in Nagoya, Aichi from November 22 to December 25; and in Ikebukuro, Tokyo starting in early January.
