Cup Noodle's 'Hungry Days' Campaign Gets Exhibitions in Japan, Taiwan

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Cup Noodle's ongoing "Hungry Days" campaign with manga artist Eisaku Kubonouchi (Chocolat, Cherry) has so far reimagined Studio Ghibli's Kiki and Heidi of Heidi, Girl of the Alps as older teens sorting out their first loves. The project is now planning exhibitions in Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Taiwan.

Kubonouchi will host the exhibitions where the original drawings from the two ads will be on display. Merchandise of the characters based on his new redesigns will also be on sale.

The Fukuoka exhibition will open at HMV & Books Hakata on October 14 and run until October 27. HMV & Books Tokyo will host the Tokyo leg of the tour from October 25 to November 7, followed by the Taiwan portion at d/art from November 12 to December 10. Kubonouchi will be at the events to sign autographs and draw. The ads will also be shown except at the Taiwan location where only the Kiki ad is planned for screening.

Cup Noodle debuted its teaser ad for the "Hungry Days" campaign with the theme song "Kinen Satsuei" (Commemorative Photo) by BUMP OF CHICKEN in June. Tatsunoko Pro animated the Heidi ad.
