DMM Games Unveils 1st Original PS4 Game

DMM Games announced on Friday at Tokyo Game Show that it is developing its first original game exclusively for PlayStation 4. The game is titled Demeritocracy Arui wa Alias Roos no 2-tsu no Kao (Demeritocracy or the Two Faces of Alias Roos) and it is slated for 2018.
In the "Machiavellism adventure" game, players must gather evidence and form strategies to reach the game's goals. The story focuses on the "secret maneuverings of an antihero with special powers," and the world is designed to resemble medieval Europe with the existence of lost technology.
The main character is Alias Roos (Note: Name romanizations not confirmed), pictured right in the image above, though that the name is an alias. He has a special ability that can control people's thoughts or actions, and he plans to use it to get revenge on a powerful country. While he appears to be a model student, he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
His rival is Karaya Dial, pictured left in the image above, a strategy genius who is the youngest adviser to the king. He is unselfish and passive but yearns to put his strategies into practice.
Hifumi Kono (Clock Tower) is directing the game and Arco Wada (Fate/Extra) is designing the characters.
DMM Games specializes in browser and smartphone games, but it unveiled its first title for Nintendo Switch earlier this month. DMM also recently established an animation label to join anime production committees.
