My Hero Academia Manga Takes 1-Week Break Due to Author's Sudden Illness

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

This year's 43rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine didn't publish a new chapter of Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia manga on Monday as planned due to Horikoshi's sudden illness. While Shueisha printed the issue with a notice that the manga would appear in the issue, the mistake was due to the magazine already being printed before corrections could be made.

Horikoshi previously took a one-week break in the magazine's 28th issue in June due to illness.

Horikoshi launched the superhero manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014, and Shueisha published the 15th compiled volume (pictured at right) in Japan on September 4. The manga's 13th and 14th compiled book volumes both bundled an original anime. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally in its Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and in print.

The anime adaptation's second season premiered in Japanese with English subtitles on Crunchyroll and Hulu on April 1, and FunimationNow is streaming the English dub. The anime is listed with 25 episodes.
