Animelo Event Posts Kemono Friends Short on Proper Concert Behavior (Updated)

Short features Northern White-faced Owl, Eurasian Eagle-Owl cleaning up Saitama Super Arena

The official YouTube channel of the Animelo Summer Live concerts began streaming a Kemono Friends anime short video on Wednesday. The video features Northern White-faced Owl (Shiori Mikami) and Eurasian Eagle-Owl (Akari Uehara) gathering a team of friends together to clean up the dilapidated Saitama Super Arena, the real-life venue of the Animelo Summer Live event.

While there, the friends find cards that teach proper behavior while enjoying the concert, such as not using electronic devices. ("What's a 'mobile'?" "Doesn't look very tasty.") Later, the friends see how many people are entering the venue (far above their estimate of 100), and beat a hasty retreat.

The Kemono Friends anime's staff returned to work on the short.

This year's Animelo Summer Live took place on August 25-27. Dwango and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting have been holding the anime song event annually since 2005.

Nexon's original Kemono Friends app game launched in early 2016 and ended service on December 14 — before the Kemono Friends anime even aired. The 12-episode television anime then premiered on TV Tokyo and TV Osaka on January 10 and ended on March 28. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.

Director TATSUKI posted an unofficial "episode 12.1" for the anime in April. Kemono Friends is also getting a new stage play and a "new screen project" (separate from "episode 12.1"). An official guidebook for the anime confirmed that a second season is in the works but it "will take some time."

Bushiroad announced on Monday that the title of its new Kemono Friends mobile app game is Kemono Friends Pavilion. Nexon had announced in February that the original game app would not return despite the anime's popularity, although a spokesperson for Nexon later stated that the return of the smartphone app "is possible."
