Natsume collaborating with Rising Star Games to release game on PS4, PC, Switch

Natsume Inc. began streaming a gameplay video for its Harvest Moon: Light of Hope PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch game on Tuesday. The video shows the protagonist at the start of the game, gathering materials to repair a shop.

Natsume Inc. is working with Rising Star Games to release the game in Japan, North America, and Europe.

In the game's story, the player character arrives at a small harbor town after a shipwreck. The player works to rebuild the town and its lighthouse by farming and gathering repair materials. The player will be able to make friends and start a family.

Natsume previously published games in the Bokujō Monogatari game series in North America under the umbrella title of Harvest Moon. However, XSEED Games is now publishing Bokujō Monogatari games in North America, and it is using the title Story of Seasons because it cannot use Natsume's Harvest Moon title. Natsume has continued to release new games under the Harvest Moon title.

To celebrate the original game's 20th anniversary, Natsume and Rising Star Games also developed and released a mobile app titled Harvest Moon Lil' Farmers. The companies also re-released Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (Bokujō Monogatari: Oh! Wonderful Life) and Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland (Bokujō Monogatari 3: Heart ni Hi o Tsukete) for PlayStation 4 and Harvest Moon 64 (Bokujō Monogatari 2) for Nintendo Wii U this year.

The original Harvest Moon (Bokujou Monogatari) shipped for the Super Nintendo in 1996 in Japan. It was also released in North America in 1997, and 1998 in Europe.
