Curry Restaurant's Gundam Campaign Offers Exclusive Figure With Spoon

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The Curry House CoCo Ichibanya (CoCo Ichi) restaurant chain revealed the full details of its Mobile Suit Gundam collaboration on Friday. The chain's website had previously teased the collaboration with an image of Amuro Ray eating the restaurant's classic pork cutlet curry.

An image of the collaboration's special RX-78-2 Gundam CoCo Ichi Extra Finish Ver. is appearing on promotional banners at restaurants during the campaign.

The collaboration menu includes Cheese-in Hamburg Steak Curry recommended by Char. During the campaign, people who visit the chain will be able to receive one of five drinks for free. People who spend at least 900 yen (about US$8) at the restaurant during one visit will be able to enter a receipt prize campaign. Visitors will be able to use their qualifying receipts to enter for a chance to win four different prizes. The prizes are:

HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam CoCo Ichi Extra Finish Ver. figure with spoon (1,000 available)

Original curry plate with stand (300 available)

Original set of four spoons with case (300 available)

CoCo Ichi meal tickets worth 1,000 yen (US$9; 1,000 available)

In addition, people who spend at least 900 yen will be able to participate in a shop prize lottery campaign. They will be able to receive one of eight collaboration coasters at the restaurants. People who collect at least three coaster campaign tickets will be able to enter for a chance to win a Gundam Coaster Complete Folder with all eight coasters. Applications for the coaster campaign must be received by September 8.

The collaboration is running from July 14 to August 31.

The restaurant's Lupin the Third collaboration ran from April 1 to May 31. Fans had a chance to win various prizes, including a real version of Lupin's Fiat 500. The restaurant also previously collaborated with Dragon Ball.

Curry House CoCo Ichibanya was founded in 1978, and the chain now has more than 1,000 restaurants in all 47 of Japan's prefectures. The original Mobile Suit Gundam television anime debuted in 1979.
