Yuri!!! on Ice Voted as Tokyo Anime Awards' Animation of the Year

This year's Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) held a poll for the Animation of the Year: Anime Fan Award. Fans voted on anime that screened or aired between October 18, 2015, and October 15, 2016. An earlier poll had already narrowed down a larger list of 550 to 100, and fans could vote once per day. The poll ended last Thursday, and the organizers revealed on Wednesday that fan favorite Yuri!!! on Ice got First Place at 41,439 votes.

The Tokyo Anime Award Festival will be held this year in Ikebukuro in Tokyo from March 10-13. A special screening of the first three episodes of Yuri!!! on Ice will run during the event on March 11.
