New 'Sōkyū no Fafner The Beyond' Work Announced

The "'Sōkyū no Fafner' Minashiro so-shi Seitan-sai" (Sōkyū no Fafner so-shi Minashiro Birthday Festival) event in Yokohama on Thursday announced a new work in the Fafner franchise titled Sōkyū no Fafner THE BEYOND. The event didn't specify the format of the new work, although the official website for the new work does feature an anime visual.
A teaser promotional video will be available online on January 6 for the new project.
The official Twitter account for the Fafner franchise had teased in May that the birthday event would have a "super-important announcement."
Funimation licensed and released the original 2004 anime Fafner and the 2010 film Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth. Crunchyroll streamed both halves of the Fafner EXODUS sequel series in various countries as it aired in 2015.
