Kirino, Kuroneko Join Oreimo's Life-Size Figure Lineup

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Celebrations are underway to mark the 10th anniversary since Tsukasa Fushimi debuted as a light novel author with Jūsanban-me no Alice. Fans voted to make Ayase, from Fushimi's famous light novel series Oreimo, into a life-size figure. They even got to choose her pose.

However, one life-size figure is not enough to mark the anniversary of such a prominent light novel creator. Due to fan support, FigureX will also make life-size figures of Kirino Kōsaka and Ruri "Kuroneko" Gokō. A Niconico live streaming program about Eromanga Sensei, one of Fushimi's other works, unveiled the poses for the figures on Tuesday.

Kirino

The life-size Kirino figure will have a similar pose and angry expression to the image of her that appears on the cover of the light novel's first compiled volume. The main difference is the fans' choice to have her wear a maid uniform.

Kuroneko

Kuroneko looks like she might be checking out her "nyan-nyan" (meowing) pose in a mirror. This shy pose received 28.8% support among fans.

Three life-size figures based on one creator's work should be enough to sate fans' oversized appetites for character goods. However, Fushimi's followers have another character model to anticipate. Voice actress Akane Fujita is supervising the creation of a figure of her Eromanga Sensei character Izumi Sagiri. Fans voted that the Izumi's figure will have a sitting pose with the character holding her knees.

The anniversary project unveiled a 3D model of the life-size Ayase figure in September:

FigureX is also offering another maid outfit-wearing life-size character figure. The company's 1:1-scale recreation of Re:Zero's Rem costs 1.48 million yen (about US$12,600), and the pre-order period is open until February 2. FigureX's other character creations include life-size versions of Renge from Non Non Biyori and Vocaloid Yuzuki Yukari.

Various companies have also produced life-size figures such as Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress' Mumei, To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness' Momo, Urusei Yatsura's Lum, and Saenai Heroine no Sodate-kata's Megumi.
