Shin Godzilla, Evangelion Face-Off Continues with Symphony Performance

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The ongoing mashup between Hideaki Anno's Shin Godzilla and Neon Genesis Evangelion properties continues with a concert featuring Cruel Angel Thesis singer Yoko Takahashi, Rei Ayanami voice actress Megumi Hayashibara, InuYasha composer Kaoru Wada and Shin Godzilla actor Satoru Matsuo.

The concert will take place at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya on March 22 and March 23. Two performances will be held on each day. The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra is performing with conductor Masamichi Amano.

The "Shin Godzilla vs. Evangelion Symphony" will be a full orchestra performance of the songs from both the film and the anime series. Hayashibara and Matsuo will serve as moderators and Takahashi is expected to sing as well.

Tickets go on sale on December 23 and range in price from 7,500 yen to 14,000 yen.

The Godzilla vs Evangelion mash-up has included crossover figures, merchandise, artwork, and more all stemming from an April Fool's joke.
