Universal Studios Japan Adds Detective Conan Real Escape Game

posted on by Amanda Ellard

Detective Conan jumps on board Universal Studios Japan's Universal Cool Japan 2017 (January 13 to June 25) event series alongside the Evangelion XR Ride, Godzilla the Real 4D, Attack on Titan the Real 4D 2, and Monster Hunter the Real attractions.

The Detective Conan the Escape real escape game captures the world of Detective Conan while providing all the typical elements of an escape game. Players cooperate with the characters and each other to meet a heinous crime organization's challenge of defusing their bomb before time runs out through solving puzzles based on various traces left at the crime scene. However, it doesn't end there. A full-scale live performance is incorporated into the experience with stunts and character appearances.

Universal Studios Japan theme park will hold the event at Stage 18 for a limited time during Universal Cool Japan 2017 and it requires a separate ticket purchase (ticket details will be released at a later date).

The Detective Conan anime has ran since 1996 and is based off Gōshō Aoyama's manga about a brilliant teen detective trapped in a child's body. Funimation released the beginning of the television series on DVD in North America, under the title Case Closed, and Viz Media publishes the original manga. Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block also ran part of the series. Recently, the anime staff confirmed a two-hour special for this winter to celebrate the series 20th anniversary.
