Detective Conan 20th Anniversary Concert Planned for KyoMAF2016

A "TV & Movie 20th Anniversary Detective Conan Concert" will be held on September 17 at the ROHM Theater in Kyoto for this year's Kyoto International Manga and Anime Fair, or KyoMAF.
Similar concerts were held in Tokyo and Osaka in March, where music from throughout the long history of the show was played by a special orchestra.
The upcoming concert at KyoMAF will include theme songs from the TV anime, movie, and stage play, and there are also plans for a special production and surprise project. Images of characters from the show will be screened during the performance, beginning with main characters Conan Edogawa and Ran Mori.
The concert will be held twice, at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., both on September 17. General tickets are 6,300 yen (US$63).
KyoMAF 2016 will be held from September 17-18 at the Miyako Messe in Kyoto and will feature a variety of exhibits and events, including a stage appearance by the cast of the Detective Conan anime.
The Detective Conan anime, called Case Closed in the U.S., first aired in January 1996. It is based on Gōshō Aoyama's manga of the same name, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 1994. Both the manga and anime are currently ongoing.
The 20th Detective Conan movie, Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare, opened in Japan on April 16 and by June 6 it earned over six billion yen, a new record for the franchise.
Inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle's iconic character Sherlock Holmes, the Detective Conan series follows a high school detective who is mysteriously shrunk down to the size of a child and continues to solve cases under the pseudonym Conan Edogawa.
