Hunter x Hunter's Togashi Draws His Birth City's Magazine Cover

posted on by Amanda Ellard

Yoshihiro Togashi illustrated a special Hunter X Hunter magazine cover for the August issue of Shinjō city's public relations magazine Kōhō Shinjō (Public Relations Shinjō). The cover features Gon, Kurapika, Killua, Leorio, and Biscuit surrounding a festival float that appears to have come to life.

Togashi's handwritten comments appear on one page of the magazine.

Every household in Yamagata prefecture's Shinjō received this edition of the city's monthly magazine on August 9. However, the magazine cannot be shipped to other regions, and will most likely only be available in digital public records or in-person at the city hall.

Togashi himself originates from the city and also designed Shinjō's mascot character Kamuten in 1994.

Togashi's Hunter X Hunter manga runs in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, but is now on an indefinite hiatus. The manga inspired two television anime series, two anime films and several original video anime titles.
