New Tokyo Skytree Pokemon Center Opens, Features Exclusive Rayquaza Merchandise

posted on by Amanda Whalen

A brand new Pokémon Center opened at the Tokyo Skytree on July 6. Located on the 5th floor of the Soramachi shopping area at the base of the towering Tokyo landmark, it has appropriately chosen the legendary "Sky High" Pokémon Rayquaza as its mascot, and Pikachu has been cosplaying as Rayquaza in support. It sells a variety of exclusive merchandise, some of which can be seen below, along with some new images and a mini video tour of the store.

The new Tokyo Skytree location makes 11 total Pokémon Centers in Japan, with other locations in Sapporo, Tohoku, Tokyo, Tokyo-Bay, Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Fukuoka. The Kyoto location just opened on March 16 and featured Pikachu dressed as an apprentice geisha and a court noble.
