Short Story Contest Bans 'Traveling to an Alternate World' Fantasy

Plots involving travel to other worlds, in particular travel to fantasy-game style worlds, have become more and more common in anime based on light novels lately. Fans of the genre can enjoy Sword Art Online, Log Horizon, GATE, KONOSUBA, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, Re:Zero, and more.
One currently running Japanese short story contest, a collaboration between Bungaku Free Market and Shōsetsuka ni Narō, has apparently seen enough. The contest has announced that it will not be accepting any submissions with plots about "traveling to alternate worlds" or "being reincarnated into other worlds." According to the contest website, any genre is allowed, including fantasy, horror, and drama, but only alternate worlds are banned.
The contest is accepting submissions until June 30 at 11:59 PM JST. Four winners will be selected from July 1 to August 31, and the results will be announced in the beginning of September. These winners will all have their works published by Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become Novelists) in a special magazine that will be sold by Bungaku Free Market. The top two will also have their works reviewed by author Masatomo Tamaru.
